SPRING HOUSE LEAGUE (UPDATE: MARCH 21st, 2020)
Please expect a delayed start for the Spring Soccer Season. The club has a revised schedule which can change once we know more from Canada Soccer and BC Soccer regarding Covid-19. As such, registration to our spring programs has been PAUSED for players on the wait list. The registrations will re-open once BC Soccer and health governing institutions instruct us it is safe to do so. We will provide you with updates on our Spring Season as we get a clear directive from BC Soccer.
CONCERNS AROUND CREDIT and / or REFUNDS
As a non-profit community club, we always have the best interest of our members at heart. If you are able to wait until we know more details surrounding when or if programs will start up again for issuing credits and/or refunds, that is certainly our preference as we want to remain optimistic and play spring soccer.
House seasons are independent; members are required to register for each season they wish to play.
Youth House is for players born 2002 - 2015. "U" stand for "Under". Bambinos & Micros are our youngest division (U5 & U6), then Minis (U7 & U8). After that Divisions are named according to their age: U9-U18.
CVUSC's volunteers plan and organize approximately 1,000 players for each season. To allow volunteers the time to carry out this process, players are required to register before a set date -- generally mid-August for the Fall league and mid-February for the Spring league.
Spring Youth House will run from April 4 to June 13, 2020 (no session April 11 and May 16). The deadline to register is Feb 29, 2020 and spaces are limited so please register early. Once divisions fill up we can only place players on teams if space allows.
Games will be played Saturdays with one practice scheduled during the week for all age groups U7 and older. Bambinos have a combined practice and game during their one-hour time slot on Saturdays.
Game location/time: To be determined by March 15. Games will be played anytime between 9am and 4pm at either Valleyview, Highland or Vanier Turf. The schedule needs to meet the needs of our volunteer coaches.
Practices: Our volunteer coaches will be setting practice times that are convenient to them, and will be determined based on field availability. If you are interested in coaching, please check the appropriate box on your registration.
Equipment: Cleats, soccer socks & shin pads are mandatory. Jerseys will be provided to all players. Bambinos to U8 players will also be provided with socks and a ball thanks to our sponsor Tim Horton's.

From a general perspective the CVUSC House programs are not about winning; it's about providing opportunities for children to develop as soccer players while having fun in balanced, fair competition. Our programs focus on teaching solid skills as our players progress through the age divisions, all the while engaging them with the essence of soccer -- FUN.

We have two recreational "house league" seasons - September to November and April to June. Children are divided up into divisions according to age with all children playing with same-aged children. If numbers require, we will combine age groups in order to make an appropriate schedule. Games are all played on Saturdays. Fields and times are set two to four weeks prior to the start of the season.
The primary playing fields used are Valley View Elementary School, Highland Secondary School, Vanier Turf Field, Woodcote field or others as numbers require. Please click here to view our Field Locations & Status.

Each age group has a Division Manager. These are the people who form the teams and act as a liaison between the coaches and the Club. They help form the Youth Executive and are responsible for making the decisions that affect our children. Any questions regarding your child's team should first be directed to your child's coach and then to your Division Manager. If appropriate, they may choose to forward your question to the Head Coach or the VP of Youth.
Coaches are parent volunteers. Advanced knowledge of soccer is not required. CVUSC hosts beginner and advanced coaching clinics to assist coaches in their tasks. Coaches indicate their interest by checking the appropriate box on the registration form. Coaches are requested to provide one practice during the week at a field of their choosing and at a time appropriate for them.
Once coaches and teams have been arranged, the coaches are given their team lists at a coaches meeting, usually one to two weeks prior to the start of the season. The coach will then email his or her players to inform them of a first practice session.
If players register after the registration deadline, they are placed on teams only if space allows. CVUSC plays two separate and distinct house seasons, fall and spring. Registration for each season is open as soon as the previous season ends. Other registration options are available - refer to the Registration page for full details.
Registration includes:
Shin Guards and cleats are mandatory, and are not part of your registration.
